Abercrombie & Kents
long-standing awareness and commitment to the preservation
of the global environment is evident in its worldwide "Green
Teams". Abercrombie and Kent or A&K has received the American
Society of Travel Agents /Smithsonian Magazine's 1992 Environmental
Award for having made "significant and lasting contributions
to the preservation of the environment."
Realizing that conservation is a global concern, A&K has
established the Abercrombie & Kent Global Foundation (A&KGF)
to preserve natural heritages through the sustainable unification
of environmental and economic goals.
The A&KGF believes that areas throughout the world, which
are supported by active tourism, can best develop sound conservation
practices by working in conjuction with indigenous peoples
and local non-government organizations.
Abercrombie and Kent or A&K was also recognized in Conde
Nast Travelers 1996 Ecotourism Awards.
